Projet Jeune Leader recognizes the importance of creating enabling environments for young adolescents to live, learn, and thrive. Parents are a major part of that environment.
There is a substantial evidence of a relationship between young people's reports of discussing sex with their parents, and significantly lower levels of risk-taking behavior. PJL offers workshops for parents to improve their communication skills and confidence to address SRH issues with their children starting at a young age.
As seen from these comments during follow-up interviews, the program is already starting to have an impact!
